Notes for my writing

This blog is made up of notes on the gospel as found in the only true and living church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This includes notes that are either excerpts from or ideas for books I either have in draft or may yet write.

The restoration of all things is a foundation, not a checklist

The restoration of all things is not a checklist or a divine to do list. The restoration of all things is the foundation on which Zion can be built. Zion is built on a foundation in which members are enjoying all the covenants in their fullest manifestation. We will not build Zion on tithing, Zion demands the higher covenant of consecration. The spiritual blessings of tithing are insufficient to build her. Every principle must be entered into by covenant, and every spiritual blessing must be manifest in the fullest measure it has yet existed among God's people on this earth for Zion to be built.
To say that the people were of one heart and one mind is not to say that they were tolerant. They lived the covenants and enjoyed the spiritual blessings that could bind them together by the Holy Ghost in a measure as the Godhead itself enjoys unity. They gained the spirit of God, and by that means experienced the divine unity Zion requires.
This is the doctrine and purpose of the restoration of all things.
