Notes for my writing

This blog is made up of notes on the gospel as found in the only true and living church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This includes notes that are either excerpts from or ideas for books I either have in draft or may yet write.

Feminism is a plague among our members

When I think of the fruits that feminism is having among our members, I can't help but think that it is a plague.

Feminism is the root force taking women out of their homes. One may argue that it is financial necessity, but it is feminism that has established a standard of living based on two incomes instead of one.

And it should be no surprise if a willingness to live a lesser standard of living than the norm may be required to bring about what the Lord wants in our homes. We look to our pioneer fathers who gave all for the kingdom of God. What will we give so our children will have their mother at home? Will we give up a second car and a nicer television set?

It is feminism that has been the guiding hand over the transformation of our country from one in which women are homemakers and mothers rather than wage earners. It is feminism that has robbed so many of our little ones of their mother's sacred time for raising and nourishing them beyond what can be squeezed into the last tired hours of the day.

When I think of the cost to the children, I think of the scripture:

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

When the combined sorrow of these children is manifest at the judgement bar, will those who have advocated for such devil's work not prefer that instead a millstone had been hung about their neck, and they had been drowned in the depths of the sea?
